INITIAL
START-UP PROCEDURE
1) CONFIRM
THE BATTERY HAS A FULL CHARGE.
2) INSTALL THE BATTERY, CLEAN AND TIGHTEN ANY LOOSE
CONNECTIONS.
3) CLOSE ALL MANUAL VALVES FOR THE PILOT AND MAIN GAS
LINES.
IGNITOR TEST
4) SWITCH "OFF RESET/RUN SWITCH" TO RUN. YOU SHOULD
HEAR THE IGNITOR ATTEMPTING TO LIGHT THE PILOT.
5) THE SPARK INDICATOR LAMP WILL BE FLASHING.
PILOT BURNER TEST
6) OPEN THE MANUAL GAS VALVES TO THE PILOT BURNER.
LEAVE THE VALVES FOR THE MAIN BURNER CLOSED.
7) PRESS THE PILOT VALVE RESET BUTTON TO OPEN THE PILOT
VALVE. IT MAY TAKE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO ASSURE THE PILOT
LINE IS PURGED OF AIR.
8) AFTER THE PILOT IGNITES, THE SPARK INDICATOR WILL
CEASE TO FLASH.
9) IF THE SPARK INDICATOR CONTINUES TO FLASH OR FLICKER,
THE PILOT FLAME IS WEAK OR UNSTABLE. REFER TO THE
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE AND CORRECT BEFORE CONTINUING
10) CLOSE THE MANUAL PILOT GAS VALVE TO EXTINGUISH THE
PILOT FLAME. AFTER THE FUEL GAS IN THE SUPPLY LINES HAS
BEEN DEPLETED, THE PILOT WILL GO OUT. UPON LOSS OF THE
PILOT FLAME, THE GUARDIAN WILL ATTEMPT TO RE-LIGHT THE
PILOT FOR APPROXIMATELY 15 SECONDS
